The Alpine Challenge 2013 draws to a close, but not without some incredible achievements and lasting memories

The Alpine Challenge 2013 is complete and the celebrations have begun. 331kms with a total ascent of 6676 metres spread over The Prologue and three stages, all within three days. During the event, which marks the end of HotChillee's Global Event Series, there was a dramatic swing in the weather from torrential downpours, to warm sunshine.

The sun comes out for Stage Two of the Alpine Challenge 2013

As riders gathered at the Rider Village this morning for Stage Two of the Alpine Challenge it was a more relaxed mood than yesterday. The cyclists got in their sports massages at the side of the lake, Purple Harry gave dirty bikes a thorough once over and the mechanics made last minute fixes. This was all in preparation for the 112.9kms in the saddle with 2201m of climbing.

At 7.15am riders of the Alpine Challenge gathered at the Rider Village on Lake Annecy for the start of the final event in HotChillee's Global Event Series 2013. With threatening rain clouds overhead, the mood was one of nervous excitement.

Riders arrive in Annecy for the Alpine Challenge 2013

Riders from across the globe headed to HotChillee's Rider Village in Annecy to sign-on for the Alpine Challenge, the final event in HotChillee's Global Event Series 2013. At the edge of Lake Annecy, riders were able to get last minute tweaks and repairs made to their bikes, thanks to the team of mechanics and Purple Harry was on hand to give bikes a good clean. At 3pm a group of riders gathered for the Leisure Ride, giving legs a gentle warm-up for the next few days of intense climbing in the mountains.

In two days' time cyclists from across the globe will gather at the HotChillee Riders' Village in Annecy, France for the final event in the Global Event Series 2013. The Alpine Challenge comprises three days of cycling across 331kms, with 6676 metres of climbing through some of the world's most beautiful mountainous terrain.

It has been a very exciting month for HotChillee riders with the 10th Anniversary Edition of The London-Paris. It was a hugely successful event followed by an unforgettable party in Paris sponsored by ICAP which went on until the early hours.
